Luton’s Local Strategic Partnership is known as Luton Forum and it was formed in 2000.

Luton Forum  is made up of:

Luton’s community and voluntary sector organisations are represented on the Luton Forum by Luton’s Community Empowerment Network, known as  Luton Assembly.  The  Assembly itself represents over 650 community and voluntary groups and organisations operating within Luton. It aims to create closer links, greater representation, more joint working, and identify actions to improve quality of life.  The Assembly is represented on the Forum by members of its elected Committee , making up one third of the total membership of the Forum Plenary Group.

Purpose of the Luton Forum

The Luton Forum is the Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) for the Borough of Luton.

The purpose of the Luton Forum is to bring together at a local level the different public sector agencies as well as private, business, community and voluntary sectors to agree a strategic vision and direction for Luton so that different initiatives and services support each other and work together.

The Luton Forum will seek to add value to exisitng activity.

As a partnership, the Luton Forum will negotiate, own, manage and be accountable for Luton's Local Area Agreement.

The Luton Forum, will work in partnership at both strategic and grassroots level to deliver improvements in the Borough. The Luton Forum will place a strong emphasis on engaging communities and neighbourhoods.

The Luton Forum will identify and evidence improvements needed, agree the Sustainable Community Strategy, and improve outcomes.

The Luton Forum will work towards the goal of enabling local people to influence decision-making.

The Luton Forum will enable business, the community and voluntary sectors to play a full and equal part in the work of the Luton Forum.

The Luton Forum will endeavour to ensure access to and equitable outcomes for all sections of the community in respect of all its projects.

 

All members of the Luton Forum have made a commitment to joint working to improve quality of life for the people of Luton, and have adopted as the statement of the Luton Forum’s shared overall purpose:
