Work is currently taking place on Luton’s Health and Wellbeing Strategy which will set out the aspirations for health and wellbeing in Luton in 2026. It will recognise the importance of tackling the long-term determinants of health as well as identifying the key actins in the next five years. The strategy will provide the basis of the priorities for commissioning decisions in the period 2012-2017. The strategy builds on the priorities of the JSNA and sets them out as they relate to three major areas: · Every child and young person has a healthy start in life · Reducing the gap in life expectancy in Luton · Increasing healthy life chances The draft strategy is expected to be available for consultation in Spring 2012.
