The Role of the Strategic Board

Setting strategic direction:

• Agree shared priorities for service development
• Identify national and local issues impacting on Luton children and requiring a collaborative response, in particular, proposals contained in or emanating from the Green Paper "Every Child Matters" and the Children's NSF
• Commission and agree the Children's Service Plan, the Children and Young People Preventative Strategy, and relevant sections of other strategic plans, wherever possible enabling planning to take place over a three or five year period.
• Maximize the consistency between these and other plans affecting children
• Identify, recommend and promote multi agency priorities
