Strategic Priorities

Based upon the planning inputs outlined above, the following strategic priorities have been identified:

• To improve the image & self esteem of Luton, leading to an improved perception of the town – both externally & internally
• To enhance the cultural life of Luton
• To release creative thinking and imaginative processes into the strategic leadership and communities of Luton

Contribution to Community Cohesion

Community cohesion issues are addressed by the Dynamic and Creative Luton theme through ensuring that:

• Measures are taken to increase the self-esteem of all groups and communities in Luton
• Perceptions of discrimination in delivery of public services is reduced by joint working
• Sports, leisure and cultural facilities are made more accessible across all the diverse communities of Luton
• Key stakeholders working in partnership raise the aspirations and expectations of all community groups in Luton
• The local press are encouraged to promote a positive view of Luton and improve the image of the town.
